COMBINED EFFORTS

This year, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of the Netherlands celebrate 50 years of partnership having established diplomatic relations in 1972. Both countries enjoy strong relations and have frequently expressed commitment to enhancing the partnership and further boosting bilateral trade.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, has played a crucial role in expanding bilateral trade between Dubai and the Netherlands. The Chamber has hosted several Dutch trade delegations and promoted Dubai as an ideal hub for Dutch business expansion.

As a result of these efforts, UAE’s non-oil trade with the Netherlands reached US$4.3 billion in 2021 and the number of Dutch companies registered with the Chamber has increased steadily to exceed 1,200. We look forward to seeing these figures rise further as we explore untapped business potential in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands Business Council has done a remarkable job in fostering cooperation between Dutch businesses and their Dubai-based counterparts. We hope to build stronger relationships with key stakeholders, attract high-potential Dutch companies to Dubai and support Dubai-based companies with their entry into the Dutch market.

We look forward to working closely with the Council to build new bridges of cooperation in key sectors of mutual interest such as dairy and fresh produce, arts and antiques, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, fabrics, and perfumery, as well as explore new bilateral business opportunities.

I wish the Council and its members all the success in their future endeavors. Through our combined efforts, I am confident that we can take Dubai-Dutch trade ties to the next level, creating a more prosperous future for both our nations.
